Project overview:
The product: This is an app & website where users can book an appointment for a mobile health care unit that provides free or low-cost health care to women.
Project duration: May 2022 - August 2022
The problem: Salus Women’s Wellness wanted an easy and confidential way for women to book an appointment for free to low-cost health care and to easily find the mobile units' schedule and locations, as well as information on nearby metro stations/bus stops. Since the DC/Metro area has a large population of women who speak Spanish, they also needed a Spanish version of the site and app. Salus is also a privately-funded non-profit so they need an easy way for people to make donations, including using Venmo and PayPal.
The goal: Provide a desktop/mobile app that can be used to book appointments, find locations and get notifications and confirmations via text/sms.
My role: Lead
Responsibilities: Research, conduct usability studies, and design
Target Audience: Women, Health Professionals
Personas and User Journey Maps
User Testing:
I conducted research using a survey of women who regularly need to find confidential, safe, and low-cost medical care. Users were of a variety of ages and spoke both English and Spanish.
Study type: Unmoderated usability study
Location: Remote
Participants: 5 participants
Length: 30-45 minutes
Findings:
Round 1: Some users had difficulty with the icons on the top navigation. Some users thought the navigation was too crowded. All the users really liked the ability to switch from English to Spanish.
Round 2: Users found the navigation easier to use. Some users found the animations too fast. 100% of users said they would use an app like ours and would refer it to others.
